We Are Silent for Human Rights

You guys probably don't know this my I am a huge advocate for human rights equality and rights to clean water, education, food, shelter, etc. and one of my favourite organizations that combines all those beliefs is the Free The Children and Me to We campaigns both run by Marc and Craig Kielburger. These Craig started the foundation when he was 12 because of the assassination of 12 year old Iqbal who was speaking out against human rights violations against children in the world. Craig was empowered by this and worked with his school community all the way to the international community and has helped many villages with the brick to brick program.
This year I have decided to stay silent for 24 hours, in order to spread awareness of the human rights atrocities that occur in this world and how the victims cannot even speak out. By doing this on a wide scale we hope to make impact and show that although a voice is powerful, so can silence.
Thank you and I hope that you guys spread the word to your friends and if like me you support this cause, stay silent along with me!
P.S the actual day of silence is on the 18 of April. If you want more information or to get more involved, go to freethechildren.com.

The U. S of A

I love this country. The people are nice. But somethings I don't understand.
1. Alcohol: you can buy the the stuff practically everywhere yet the drinking age here is 21.... Uh...
2. Guns: you can also buy these anywhere...
3. Taxes: the amount of taxes Americans pay on their clothes, property, etc. is sick! In Canada everything that you touch is taxed!
4. The news: everyday on the news there is some new death, accident or political drama. In Canada we don't get that.
5. Medical ads!! Those things are terrifying! Every symptom you try to help it seems that death and even worse side effects follow and can even make your condition a lot worse.
6. The amount of lawyers and doctors: pretty self explanatory
7. Tea: tea sucks here
8. Food is okay here
And 9. Entertainment: AWESOME

Ummm.... What the Heck!?

So funny story... I am in Florida at the moment and I have been here for a week and I have seen some pretty weird things, this was the most hilarious/terrifying. We went to an open flea market on Saturday, which was pretty fun, but within the first 5 mins I was already questioning if I should run back to Canada. I at first heard a deafening "SCHREEECH" and I turned to my dad with a horrified face. "Dad. Was that a taser?" I asked my dad. We both look at the stall in which the sound came from and indeed, it was a taser. The taser was bad enough but it had the most uneducated looking 50 year old I have ever seen. He was a 100% genuine red neck, which in my experience is not good when they handle weapons and or something that could be turned into a weapon. Combine this lovely gem of a hick with the taser it's bad enough but add the 6 beer cans sitting empty beside him and about 6 others left to go it was terrifying. And this was all before 12:00 pm.
Yup, so that was fun....
